Unites two albums from the early 80's. Says Budd "I'm incredibly proud of these pieces and a few of them are the best I've ever done. I am proud they never just slipped away forever. Maybe they just don't want to." The foundations to Budd's career in one smart package.

There is an icy elegance to this album, from the piano of Cornered to the cool jazz of Out/Out through to the arctic chill of Hazard and Back Clack. Imagine Miles Davies, Massive Attack and Anton Webern spliced together in a bizarre cloning experiment and you might be getting close. Recorded at Brian's London studios.
The Drop is another in a long line of Eno albums, stretching back to Another Green World, that sound like they've come from a different world. In the case of The Drop, that was the intention all along. As Brian said at the time, "The Drop is as if you had explained jazz to someone from a distant planet without ever playing them any examples and from that they tried to do some on the basis of your rather scant explanation. I really don't want to do something that's well covered by a lot of other people. My pleasure and pride is in discovering new places for music to go."
