Miroque is a Japanese female electronica artist/composer/keyboardist/onkyo artist. Her electronica sound is toy-tronica glitch, toy sentimentalism, electronica, girly colour of electronics, essence of Japanese seashore sounds and Japanese forest sounds.
Many cultural critics argue that the young Japanese generation, rather it be Shinjirui or Gothic Lolitas, have lost their ancestor's sensibilities, yet Miroque is a young musician who proves otherwise. Fond of temples, Buddha wood carvings, traditional Japanese music, Ikebana, and Japanese fabrics, her sensibilities have carried over into her contemplative onkyo ("sound echo") music. Compositionally she embodies elements of ma, the concept of space in time, as restrained passages of music flow as areas of repose juxtaposed with airy carnivalesque electronica. Her music feels both light and heavy, while her expression and tone is distinctly Japanese and spiritual.
Miroque's early EPs and collaborations are searching and experimental, stepping stones to Botanical Sunset, her imaginative and dreamy debut album that successfully blends various musical expressions into a cohesive and dynamic whole. She also records under other genre-defined monikers: Cassiopia (Casiotone music), Milanorka (abstract music inspired by the Finnish animation "Moomin") and Unico (techno driven DJ music).
She started her original label "cacha*mai". "cacha*mai"label releases organic electronica and electro-acoustic sounds and sound inspired by Japanese fabric, old texture, World herb tea.
