| Celebrating the special 80th release for Canada's Plus 8 Records, a rare gem of techno from the Plus 8 archives finally sees the light of day (and night). 'Hardtrax Vol. III' (by Richie Hawtin) features the unreleased follow-up to the Hardtrax Series originally released in 1994 by 'the Hard Brothers' on Probe Records. The Hardtrax releases were recorded for Plus 8's Hard series of underground parties set in various Detroit warehouses in the early 1990's. While the trax on this third volume have aged by a decade, their blippy minimal feel sounds very fresh and surprisingly now. |
