Finally, the CD version of this limited LP release. Includes two new songs (“Blue Sanctions” and “Low Touch”) and an extended remix of “Missionary Bones”. "Just Say The Faith" comes from a very cold and damp place, perhaps inside an ancient abandoned church, where long shadows fall across gnarled tree roots and forgotten voices echo from dusty corners. The colors are black and brown, the elements are Earth and Water, and the season is most certainly Autumn. With each release Rapoon moves farther into a darker, more medieval Europe. The ergot mold grows thicker each year on the rye berries and the ghosts dance their crazed rites, all leading to this strange and mysterious album. "Just Say The Faith" has its roots in noise and music and rhythm and drone, all combining to produce an exquisitely melancholy atmostphere. | "Normally" reunites The Hafler Trio and Soleilmoon for the first time since 1996, when "An Utterance of the Supreme Ventriloquist", a limited edition clear vinyl LP wrapped in hand-made Japanese paper was released. The first CD in this two disc set is based on the voice of Einsturzende Neubauten's Blixa Bargeld. A particular phrase was read three times, in Blixa's three trademark vocal styles: whispering, hysterical and ordinary. "Normally," the title of this CD, is a reference to part of what Blixa didn't say when he spoke his phrase, and also to the way the German word for "Normally" is used. Although there are seven titles associated with the album, the music flows as one continuous track. They refer to different sections in the piece, but some of the changes are subtle, and the listener is left to discover them on her own. Or not. The second disc, "Sphotavado", is also based on vocal recordings by the Einsturzende Neubauten frontman. Three "meaningful" vowels were taken and arranged according to certain rules of Sanskrit. By repetition of these sounds, vibratory rhythms are created in the body to awaken the psychic fields. Everything, from our thoughts and ideas all the way up to things like people, trees and mountains, is a result of these vibrations. Along with its energy, every object has its accompanying range of sounds. Vibration is therefore a result of sound, not its cause. The name "Sphotavado" is the name given to this concept of sound, and is referred to in many tantras. It forms the foundation of tantric mantras, which are a fundamental aspect of Vedic rituals. Like the music inside, the packaging for this release is at once subtle and complex, presenting a simple and clean exterior that opens and unfolds to reveal (or hide) its complex inner workings. Designed by The Hafler Trio mastermind Andrew McKenzie himself, the sleeve and accompanying artwork are an intrinsic part of the whole package. It is essential that the music be played back through speakers, rather than through headphones, where its effects would be negated. Likewise, conversion to MP3 will render the music ineffective, as the compression removes the most important information. Andrew McKenzie's favorite fruit is the pomegranate. |

| "About 10 years ago a small cassette-label called Korm Plastics released a cassette, 'Linea', by Asmus Tietchens, who had gained some fame with records on Sky Records, A-Mission and United Diaries. 'Linea' was turned down by a US label, because it was too minimal: two long pieces created by a small rhythmbox and synth lines into a straightforward manner. With the disappearance of the medium cassette, this release went into obscurity. But thanks to the recordable CD technique, it got it's second life, on a CDR in a digital cleaned version. All of this wouldn't been written here (for many obvious reasons, and in case you don't know these: don't worry), but 'Linea' has just a third life too. If you are devoted Asmus' work (and why not?), then you know much of his work is based on recycling. That is, in case you didn't arrive here on an industrial wave, a kind of remix. A specific sound or sounds are taken from the original works and treated in studio (an instrument in itself) and transformed into a new work, wether or not the original can be recognized. Normally it's Asmus doing his thing using sounds from others (like PBK, Arcane Device or Vidna Obmana), but here good ol' Vidna Obmana takes his turn on two of the orginal masters by Asmus, one being 'Linea' and the other is 'Nachtstuecke', Asmus debut LP from 1980. It helps to be familiar with the original works, even though Nachtstuecke is not yet available on CD, but Vidna Obmana effectively does his thing. Stretching the original into thick drones of buzzing like synths that sounds like Vidna of some years back (and in fact my favourite Vidna area). The original dissappeared entirely under the aural carpet woven by Vidna Obmana, and he has created a hauntingely beautiful work that equally matches the originals.
